„SNATCH“

Ester Parasková presents a new body of work at Sophistica Gallery, further developing her long-term interest in repetition, deformation, and the visual language of mass production. The exhibited works appropriate familiar characters from animated films, yet strip them of their original innocence through fragmentation, exaggeration, and mechanical persistence. Repeated gestures and motifs leave visible traces of pressure and erosion, transforming friendly archetypes into uneasy, ambiguous forms. Violence, irony, desire, and humor coexist within dense compositions that oscillate between attraction and discomfort. The exhibition also includes drawings in which Parasková returns to line as a primary means of expression. Reduced color, sharp contours, and serial structures emphasize the processual nature of image-making and reinforce production as both method and subject. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, the exhibition confronts viewers with layered visual fields that reflect a fragmented contemporary reality shaped by repetition, control, and latent tension beneath familiar imagery.
